Abstract

Horticultural food production on agricultural products in Indonesia affects market demand. High fruit and vegetable yields are able to meet market needs and are supported by increasing levels of public consumption of fruits and vegetables. In addition, many food and beverage products have been produced using fruit and vegetable ingredients. This certainly supports the smooth flow of fruit and vegetable food distribution to consumers. In fulfilling consumer demands or needs for fruit and vegetables, procedures are needed in product distribution and sales activities. Optimization regarding the procedure for packaging fruit and vegetables which is truly one of the Community Service programs (PkM) which aims to increase the platform for traders in the Mertasari, Candikuning, Bedugul markets in terms of packaging and labeling of fruits and vegetables by the Bali Land Transportation Polytechnic ( Bali Regional Police). This activity uses socialization methods, observation, and packaging and labeling practices for fruit and vegetable products. Socialization on proper packaging and labeling was carried out with village heads and the community, as well as traders at the Mertasari market. The PKM results show an increase in the capacity of traders in packaging and labeling fruit and vegetables, contributing to the productivity and effectiveness of packaging and labeling activities for human resources in these markets. The obstacles faced include that there are still many traders who have not handled the products they sell, namely packaging and labeling of fruits and vegetables properly and correctly.
