Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Semangat Nyata Untuk Mengabdi (JKPM Senyum) is an interdisciplinary journal reviewed by 2 leading peer-reviewed people to advance theory and practice related to all forms of community service, especially in the field of land transportation, including highlighting innovative efforts ; critically examine emerging problems, trends, challenges and opportunities; and reporting on impact studies in the field of public services, outreach, engagement, outreach, community service-based research, community service-based participatory research, action research, public scholarships, service learning, and community service. The objective of the program was to enhance democratic participation and promote evidence-based discourse within local governance by engaging scholars as impartial panelists. Utilizing Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), together with consultations and joint drafting methods, the panel crafted twenty significant questions regarding urban development, the digital economy, and creative industries. In addition, this initiative highlights the strategic function of universities as mediating institutions between the state and society, particularly in local electoral contexts where information asymmetry and populist narratives often prevail. By positioning academic experts as neutral facilitators of policy-oriented debate, the program contributed to strengthening deliberative democratic practices and reinforcing public trust in electoral processes. This experience further demonstrates that structured academic engagement in electoral forums can serve not only as a form of community service but also as a scalable model for institutionalizing evidence-based public deliberation within decentralized democratic systems The conclusions illustrate the vital importance of higher learning institutions in advancing participatory democracy and proficient governance by blending knowledge, civic awareness, and community communication. Addressing this issue requires not only regulatory enforcement but also community-based educational approaches. This community service program aims to strengthen public understanding, skills, and awareness through the socialization of basic land transportation safety campaigns as an effective strategy for traffic accident prevention. The primary objective is to equip participants with fundamental concepts, techniques, and regulatory-based strategies for designing safety campaigns that are effective, adaptive, and sustainable. The community partners involved in this program include local community groups and stakeholders concerned with traffic safety education. The methods applied consist of structured socialization sessions, interactive training, campaign design simulations, and the utilization of social media and artificial intelligence-based tools to enhance the dissemination of safety messages. The results indicate a significant improvement in participants’ knowledge of traffic safety principles, practical skills in developing safety campaign media, and a strengthened commitment to promoting orderly and safe traffic behavior within their communities. These findings demonstrate that participatory and technology-supported safety campaign training can effectively empower communities as active agents of change. The background of the problem involves significant dock damage to Pier II that has led to a concentration of activity at a single pier, thereby increasing the risk of traffic accidents and prolonged vehicle queues in the port area. The objective of this community service program is to increase awareness and promote safe driving behavior among truck drivers and passengers at the port, involving key partners such as traffic officers and ferry operators. The methods used include community education through structured training, science and technology simulations to visualize congestion risks, and policy advocacy, with effectiveness measured through pre- and post-activity surveys. Results indicate a 25% reduction in potential traffic congestion risks following the education program, with participants' knowledge of safety protocols and blind-spot awareness increasing by up to 40%. These findings emphasize the importance of integrating preventive education and technological simulations to reduce accidents in busy maritime hubs. The program was initiated in response to the high incidence of level-crossing accidents, which are predominantly caused by low traffic discipline and limited understanding of safety regulations among road users. The activity was implemented through socialization and visually-based educational sessions in collaboration with the Blitar Regency Transportation Agency. The implementation consisted of three stages: preparation and initial assessment, visual education and socialization, and evaluation and reflection. Pre-test results indicated that 72% of participants were unable to correctly distinguish between types of level crossings and lacked understanding of mandatory safety procedures. Following the intervention, post-test results demonstrated substantial improvement, with 96% correct responses and an average N-Gain score of 0.72, indicating a high level of improvement. These findings indicate that visual-based education is effective in strengthening participants’ conceptual and procedural understanding. Through a risk assessment conducted with the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) team, risks were identified and categorized into Low Risk, Moderate Risk, and High Risk. While most risks can be managed with appropriate controls, there are high risks such as workers being trapped during formwork installation and webbing sling failure, which require greater attention. The solutions implemented in this PKM include redesigning safer work procedures, intensive safety training, and tighter supervision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) use. As a key transportation center in Bali for travel between cities and provinces, Mengwi Terminal, a Type A terminal, is crucial for facilitating secure and well-managed journeys. The goal of this community service project was to boost the knowledge, understanding, and perspectives of both drivers and passengers concerning road safety throughout the 2025–2026 Christmas and New Year travel period. This program partnered with Mengwi Terminal in Tabanan, reaching out to drivers of public transport, passengers, and the terminal's management team. The approach involved educational and interactive methods, including face-to-face guidance, distribution of safety materials, concise talks, and monitoring of travel conditions at the terminal. The primary areas of focus were encouraging safe driving habits, ensuring vehicles are in good condition, raising passenger awareness about safety, following traffic rules, and highlighting the need for adequate rest and attentiveness during extended trips. Findings indicated that participants gained a better grasp of safe driving techniques and their roles in passenger safety, as evidenced by their lively participation, favorable feedback, and heightened recognition of how to avoid risks during busy travel times. This community service highlights how focused road safety education in transportation hubs can have a real impact on promoting safer travel habits. However, the limited knowledge and skills of parking attendants in traffic management are still frequently encountered in the field. This community service activity aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of parking attendants in Bandung Regency in safe traffic management practices. The activity was carried out through a participatory training method, including the delivery of materials, discussions, demonstrations, and traffic management simulations. A total of 25 parking attendants participated in the event. The results of the activity show an improvement in participants' understanding of traffic safety principles as well as their ability to apply traffic control signals using hand gestures, whistles, and traffic control devices. Additionally, this activity raised participants' awareness of the strategic role of parking attendants in minimizing traffic conflicts and the risk of accidents in parking areas. As the main ferry gateway connecting Bali and Java, Gilimanuk Port in Jembrana Regency plays a strategic role in ensuring safe and orderly crossings. This community engagement activity aimed to support efforts to improve ferry crossing safety, conducted as part of the Micro Internship Program at the Nataru Command Post of Politeknik Transportasi Darat Bali (POLTRADA Bali), aimed to improve safety awareness among ferry passengers and ASDP port officers. The activity involved direct safety socialization, brief educational sessions, distribution of informational materials, and field observations at Gilimanuk Port. The focus areas included passenger safety awareness, compliance with port regulations, orderly boarding and disembarkation, and emergency preparedness during peak travel periods. The results showed increased participant awareness, positive engagement, and improved understanding of safety procedures. The micro-internship program implemented at the Nataru 2025 Command Post in the Riau Region is an implementation of experiential learning that integrates ways of thinking competencies, skills for living in the world, ways of working, and tools of working. This activity aims to provide students with practical experience in developing complex problem-solving skills, situation analysis, and effective communication in a real work environment. The program implementation method combines digital and conventional approaches, including socializing driving safety through digital platforms and distributing informative media in the form of safety stickers for public transportation. Data collection was carried out through direct observation (primary) and documentation studies (secondary) of traffic flow during the 2025 Christmas period. The results of the activity showed a positive response from road users, especially public transportation and truck drivers, to the socialization material on driving safety. Jatiluwih, known for its stunning terraced rice fields, faces geographical challenges with narrow, winding, and steep roads, as well as dynamic weather conditions. The lack of knowledge and driving skills in such difficult terrain often leads to traffic accidents. This study employs a descriptive method by conducting safety education and training sessions for 36 local community participants. The education was delivered through engaging images and videos to enhance understanding of road safety. The results show that 98% of the participants were able to comprehend the information on safe driving practices in mountainous areas after the sessions.
